Around here, we're kinda getting sick of Cancer... (no pun intended) I mean, Im really just over it... A very good friend of mine has been kicking breast cancers butt, yet the hits just keep coming. After chemo, radiation & a double mastectomy - we thought we were in the clear... then it came back... back to chemo and radiation and now blood transfusions, too. She is EXHAUSTED. This woman is literally my hero... no matter how stressed, tired, sick, and in pain she is - you would never know it. She takes care of her three kids with her super hero cape flapping in the wind behind her. Super low blood counts and begging to go back to work... *Or like the photo - walking in the Mother Day Breast Cancer Walk* But, lately - she has been talking about relaxing on a mini trip... and ya know what? When a mom that doesn't ask for help asks for help - you drop what you're doing and you find a way to help... So that's why I am here... I want to raise as much as I can so our friend Kat and I can give her a break. Maybe a night or two in a local fancy hotel with a massage and pedicure... maybe a short week on the beach in between treatments if you guys are feeling really helpful! If there is anyone in the world that deserves it - its this mama, I promise you. If everyone would donate just a couple dollars we could give her such an amazing trip that she has more than earned. Doctors orders are to rest and relax - and this seems like the perfect way to be sure she does that. Anything left over will be given to her and her family to use towards her medical bills. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and thanks in advance for your selflessness and generosity. 


  

 Let me give you just a tiny glimpse into my last month... my office flooded - forcing me to RUSH/EMERGENCY pack all my fabric, machines, etc. and move out in 24 hours. My insurance deductible was higher than the damage - forcing me to pay it all out of pocket as well as losing sales and getting way backed up while I couldn't work. It was a MESS to say the least... it still is - but we're getting back on track... My mom and step dad got married in Vegas - it was AMAZING, but another week off right after the flooding... THEN to top it off, my son had surgery last friday... requiring time off, and a recovery we are still working through... needless to say - Im a bit off track and the blog has suffered. BUT - I am here now and back with another Nuby review!
Nothing like some fun Nuby stuff to put a smile on my face - tonight I threw (ok, not literally) all the kids in the bath tub... as we filled it up and dumped the toy bag, I realized that all but one were from Nuby. It's impossible for me to believe that it is time to start potty training Rozzlyn. SHE IS JUST A BABY!! And by a baby I mean not at all a baby... she is a full on walking, talking, toddler - pooping on the potty. Too much info? Sorry. This is a post about a potty seat - things could get messy. ;)
I should probably start this by saying........ Im sorry Rozzlyn - don't hate me for this when you're 13... I promise I won't (I totally will) pull these pics out to show your first boyfriend. *13? Boyfriend? Ha... Maybe when you're 23* LOVE YOU BABY GIRL!  So Ms. Rozzlyn its a champ at pooping on the potty. I would say in the last few weeks we have had about 15 poops on the potty... and the Nuby Potty Seat has been a HUGE help at all this progress. While I totally want to throw the potty chair in the back of the closet - keep her in diapers forever - and pretend she will always be my baby girl.... I am aware that she must grow up. We always start with a clean potty of course... but I feel like it established two great morning habits in one... brushing our teeth... and the necessary morning potty trip. PLUS - brushing her teeth keeps her distracted and sitting their much longer than if I just place her on the potty... she is usually ready to get up after about 5 seconds. If we're lucky enough to get some potty out - I just dump it in the toilet and wipe out the potty with an antibacterial wipe.  SO SO easy... and if it takes more effort that than (which it usually never does) I just wipe it out with some dish soap and a cloth diaper wipe/rag. SO SIMPLE! Highly, HIGHLY recommended if you want a simple potty without all the bells and whistles. We used to have one that played music every time they went potty. Fun - until it stopped working properly and was going off constantly with or without a sucessful potty trip. All that stuff just isn't necessary. My roommate and her daughter have been living with us for awhile now while they looked for a new apartment. While they have been here, they've been sharing the boys' Nuby plates, cups, spoons and what not...
