One dessert I will miss since cutting Carbs.
So - our family has decided to really cut back on carbs... even more specific, sugar. I will most definitely have to work on a low carb/sugar free version of these... but until then, I MUST share this recipe :) Oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies.
recipe from the fantabulous Jenny of Picky Palate2 sticks (1 cup) softened butter
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon pure vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
10 oz bag chocolate chips

Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined. Using a cookie scoop take one scoop of cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo Cookie. Take another scoop of dough and place on bottom of Oreo cookie. Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo cookie is enclosed with dough. Place onto a parchment or silpat lined baking sheet and bake cookies 9-13 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

Thirsty Thursday... Cocktail time!
So - I have a pounding headache...
And, if the babies weren't here...
it would totally be cocktail hour...
so I got this idea...
rather than actually partaking in a cocktail...
with two toddlers running around...
at 3:00 in the afternoon... on a thursday...
Im gunna start sharing some of my favorite cocktail recipes...
From what we used to call "Thirsty Thursday" in college... he he he

I am a HUGEEEE, HUGE fan of a Pomegranate Martini...
So much so, that when Zaq and I get engaged..
I spent a whopping $14 on one at the W...
it was worth every penny on that dream night...
but here in reality, I can't spend $14 every time I want a drink...
So here is the perfect recipe for the favorite Pomegranate Martini.
"1.5 oz Three Olives® Pomegranate Vodka
1 oz POM® pomegranate juice
1.5 oz fresh Blackberry Puree
1 oz cranberry juice
Shake well with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass."
Now - if your in the mood for a little texture...
You have to try this 5 fruit Sangria...
Every now and then we have bbq's...
and when we do, its kind of a rule that I have to make some Sangria...
Now, I put tons and tons and tons fruit in it...
Strawberries... Berries... Peaches... Apples... whatever I can get...
But here is a great recipe that you could totally add to if you want.
I found it here... http://www.wineintro.com/sangria/fivefruit.html
"Ingredients
1 bottle red wine
1/2 cup brandy
1/2 cup triple sec
1/2 cup sugar
1 6 oz bottle club soda
1 orange
1 lemon
1 lime
1 red apple
1 peach
Cut all fruits into wedges and put into a pitcher. Add in rest of the ingredients and stir well. Let sit for 2 hours or more. Serve over ice."
I know these are totally chick drinks...
so last but not least lets mention something for the guys...
or the girls... that like a good brew.
